I'm a bit of a hair daredevil, in that I have had quite a few "risky" haircuts (see here for an example). I also love dying my hair by myself, but typically stay in the brown/dark blonde realm, although last year I bleached myself to a little ombre for a bit. Color-wise though, I'm pretty safe.
Last week, I lost all my marbles and got into my head that maybe an auburn/red hairdo was just the thing to spice up my life (anyone else singing the Spice Girls? no?) and beat some winter blahs and I took it to Twitter. The result was a resounding "yay!" from my Twitter loves, and thus, the color was purchased.
Yesterday morning I finally bit the bullet and slapped the color on my hair and let me tell you, at this point in the process I was fairly horrified. Like...petrified horrified terrified as I looked like a cross between Ronald McDonald and someone who had just slapped a packet of neon red ketchup on her hair. Eeeeep!
In the end it is less Ronald McDonald (thank the Lord), but still very red and quite spicy. I almost feel like I should be in a rock band.
(excuse the horrible scratch from trying to wrangle a toddler that apparently grew claws overnight)
Do I like it? Yep! Do I love it? Depends on the second of the day you ask me. Some moments I think it rocks and some moments I think it's just a hair (hardyharhar) too much, but I think that's probably to be expected with such a BIG change! I think it will most likely grow on me!

Love it! I've always wished I could pull of any shade of red, but it just wouldn't work for me. But you? You look fantastic!
I think it looks great! You can definitely pull off red. It's more red than I thought it would be though. When I think "auburn" I think mostly brown with a little red.
I LOVE it. it kicks up your eye color and I kind of want that shade now...

I dye my hair red from time to time with the good ol' $7 box (love it!) and it tends to fade fairly fast but it always fades "pretty". So chances are in a couple weeks you'll have a new hair color without even dying it!
